BEST EXPANDS INTERMODAL TERMINAL OF NAVARRA

  • HUTCHISON PORTS BEST

Hutchison Ports BEST, located in the Port of Barcelona, is one of the leading container terminals in the Mediterranean. Recently, BEST has decided to take a step forward and has commenced major upgrade works at the Intermodal Terminal of Navarra (TIN) in Noain, aimed at tripling the terminal’s handling capacity to 42,000 square metres. The expansion project is targeted to be completed by the end of 2025, includes the addition of two new 550-metre rail tracks to enhance container handling capacity, and the company is set to acquire new electric-powered reach stackers to replace the current diesel equipment.

TIN, a key inland terminal operated by Hutchison Ports BEST in northern Spain, connects to the Port of Barcelona by rail, linking exporters and importers in Spain and southern France, reaching over 200 destinations. The company’s leading position in the implementation of sustainable practices, including the transition to electric container handling equipment and the adoption of renewable energies, marks its commitment to the forefront of the most modern, efficient and sustainable terminals in Europe.
